Literacy and numeracy skills are the keys among rural women especially those who did not get a chance to educate. They need to have basic literacy and numeracy skills to be able to manage well their income generation and businesses, the reason why WfW-Rwanda has decided to include topics as part of the Economic Empowerment module.
During the training that is taking place in Rubona sector, Rwamagana district, we had an opportunity to discuss with participants to hear from them.
One of the participants Kampire Vestine 51 years old, with 2 children but one is married. Her husband died long time ago. She lives in Rwamagana District, Rubona sector, Kabatasi Cell and Midahandwa Village. She doesn’t own a land for growing different crops. She is expecting to ask loan from the VSLA group and doing the business of buying and selling beans, sorghum, and maize so that if it went well, she may be able to buy her land.
“I am enjoying being with others during training because we can share information and experiences that can help me in my life. Thank you, WfW-Rwanda,” Said Kampire
