The future looks brighter for 75 adolescent girls enrolled in the ABADACOGORA program, a transformative initiative by WfW-Rwanda aimed at uplifting vulnerable girls. Over the next 10 months, girls will receive comprehensive life skills training in health, rights, violence prevention and leadership; as well as business, financial literacy, and vocational skills education. This holistic approach equips them with practical skills and the confidence needed to pursue their dreams.
Among the cohort is 17-year-old Muhawenimana Delphine from Rubona sector, who had to drop out of school due to financial constraints. Delphine now sees a promising future thanks to ABADACOGORA. With aspirations of becoming a renowned tailor in Rwamagana, she expressed her excitement: “I never thought I would get a second chance. Joining ABADACOGORA is a dream come true. I can now focus on learning tailoring and one day open my own shop to inspire other girls like me.”
On September 3rd, our visit to the training site revealed a great sense of optimism among the girls, who are eager to seize this opportunity.
Throughout the training, girls will gain valuable vocational skills and mentorship from experienced trainers, guiding them in personal development and confidence-building. This comprehensive support ensures they will have the tools to make informed decisions and earn a sustainable income.
WfW-Rwanda remains committed to creating a supportive environment where every girl can thrive, and we are confident that the girls in this cohort will go on to achieve great things for themselves and their communities.
