Empowered Women, Thriving Communities: 98 Women Graduate from WfW-Rwanda’s Agri-Business Program

Nduba, Gasabo District – August 20, 2025

Women for Women Rwanda (WfW-Rwanda) proudly marked the graduation of 98 women from Nduba Sector, Gasabo District, who successfully completed a 12-month Agri-Business training program. This initiative equips women with practical skills in market-oriented agriculture while strengthening their social, economic, and leadership capacities.

Transforming Agriculture into Opportunity

Through economic empowerment, graduates learned modern farming techniques, developed entrepreneurial skills, and acquired financial literacy. In the Agribusiness vocational skills program, participants learned to plan crop production based on market demand, increase productivity, access markets effectively, and implement sustainable agricultural practices.

“When women are empowered with the right skills, they contribute not only to their families but also to the nation’s economic growth.” – Dr. Furaha Umutoni Alida, Board Member, WfW-Rwanda

Through social empowerment, we enable women to take on leadership roles in their households and communities. Graduates gain confidence, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset that allow them to advocate for better family health, education, and community development.

Voices of the Graduates

Menyimana Marie Claire, representing the graduates, shared her excitement:

“This program has given us practical skills, positive values, and the confidence to grow as farmers and entrepreneurs. We are ready to improve our families’ lives and contribute to our communities.”

Local Leadership Encourages Market-Oriented Mindset

Local authorities in Nduba urged graduates to leverage opportunities offered by WfW-Rwanda, collaborate in agricultural initiatives, and plan their crops with a clear understanding of market demand.

“Empowered women create stronger families, stronger communities, and ultimately a stronger nation.”

Building a Brighter Future

The program aligns with WfW-Rwanda’s vision of “Abagore bashoboye, igihugu gikomeye” (Stronger Women, stronger nation). Graduates received certificates recognizing their achievements and are now prepared to serve as role models in Agri-Business, applying both practical farming and social empowerment lessons to strengthen livelihoods and community development.

Women for Women Rwanda remains committed to supporting women as they lead their households, engage in economic opportunities, and become agents of change in their communities.
