Dr. Furaha Umutoni Alida is a Senior researcher and lecturer at the University of Rwanda, Centre for Conflict Management. Her subject areas include Conflict and Conflict Analysis and Conflict Resolution, Understanding Identity, Ethnicity, and Nationalism; Humanitarian and International Law, Identity, Rights, and Development, Global Systems and Citizenship and Transformative Education.

In addition to her various consultancy roles, Dr. Alida served as the secretary of Women for Women Rwanda for the past three years. Her work was superb! She has gladly accepted to continue as our secretary and we have great confidence in her ability.

Dr. Alida holds a Master in Human Rights from the Université Catholique de Louvain - Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis and a Doctoral Degree in Peace and Development Studies from the University of Gothenburg.
