Ezekiel Rukema is the Head of Economic Empowerment. He has extensive experience in community resilience and livelihood development, strategic planning, and program implementation with a focus on child development, youth, and women’s empowerment. Before joining Women for Women Rwanda, Ezekiel was working at Help a Child as Livelihood Program Manager providing technical support to implementing partners in supporting different youth projects in the Eastern and Western Provinces of Rwanda. He worked as Youth Economic Empowerment Program Manager at Plan International, Regional Coordinator at AEE Rwanda, and Programs Coordinator at Danish Save the Children.
Ezekiel has over 20 years of experience serving in senior management positions and managing different community development and livelihood projects and participated in the elaboration of different strategic plans for organizations as well as designing and mobilizing resources for different projects in Rwanda and Burundi. He is familiar with different community development approaches and masters the context of the Great Lakes region.
Ezekiel holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and did master’s studies in Organizational leadership and Management from Africa International University. He attended different international courses such as Project Cycle management (PSM) from ESAMI (Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute) in Zambia, a Fundraising and proposal writing certificate received from Makerere University Uganda, Child Centred Community Development certificate (CCCD) from Plan International headquarter UK, Community, and Livelihood Development.
