Olive Uwineza is an accomplished agribusiness professional and project coordinator passionate about women's empowerment and gender equity in the agricultural sector. She holds a Master of Science in Agribusiness Management from Egerton University, Kenya, and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from the University of Rwanda.
With over five years of experience, Olive has been at the forefront of initiatives that uplift and empower women in rural communities. Through her impactful work with organizations such as ICRAF, RWARRI, and CIAT Rwanda, she has led projects focusing on capacity-building, cooperative strengthening, and market access, specifically designed to support women-led cooperatives and female farmers. Her dedication to fostering sustainable livelihoods for women has enhanced their economic participation and strengthened community resilience.
Olive’s expertise in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and training development is driven by her unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for women. She has developed village savings groups that empower women to become financially independent and spearheaded training sessions that equip them with the skills necessary for agribusiness success. Her strategic approach emphasizes inclusive development, ensuring that women play a central role in agricultural growth and innovation.
Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English, and French, she has basic knowledge in Kiswahili, Olive’s ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders underscores her effectiveness in advocating for gender-focused solutions and fostering partnerships that advance women's roles in agribusiness.
