Chrystel INTARAMIRWA

Social Empowerment Head
BIO

Mrs. Intaramirwa Chrystel holds an Honours degree in Women & Gender Studies from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. A feminist at heart, unapologetically bold in her belief in the power of women and their right to equality, Chrystel’s dedication is reflected in her extensive experience in GBV prevention and women’s empowerment.

As the Head of Social Empowerment at Women for Women Rwanda, Chrystel leads impactful initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of marginalized women. In previous years, she served in various leadership roles, including as Executive Secretary for the Rwanda Women’s Network, where she created safe spaces for victims and survivors of GBV; and as Programme Coordinator for the Rwanda Men’s Resource Center, where she engaged men in promoting gender justice and combating violence against women.

In addition to her work in women’s rights, Chrystel is passionate about event management, bringing her skills as an accomplished organizer and hands-on leader to high-profile projects. Notably, she coordinated the 3rd Global MenEngage Symposium, hosted in Rwanda to improve the impact and accountability of work around gender equality; as well as the Global Health Corps Training Institute, a two-week induction programme for Global Health Corps enrollees from across Africa; amongst other successful events.
